Background

Reggie Murphy is Director of Research Services for Gannett, Co. Inc. He manages research projects for the newspaper division geared towards increasing readership, advertising, circulation, and of Gannett's 101 daily newspapers and web sites.

Prior to his position with Gannett, he worked for four years as Marketing Research Manager at USA TODAY. He managed a team of analysts and consumer insight projects to better understand reader attitudes and behavior in order to assist management in developing strategies to grow advertising revenue and the overall USA Today brand.

Before moving to USA Today, Murphy spent two years as a market research analyst for Frank N. Magid Associates, Inc., where he managed customized market research projects for local television stations, television networks, and fortune 500 companies such as, United Airlines, Excite.com, AARP, Hubbard Broadcasting, WorldNow, AXN Action TV, NewHomeNetwork.com, and BET.

Murphy conducts lectures and seminars on topics related to media and marketing research at universities across the country. He's lectured at Georgetown, Howard University, Louisiana State University, Elon University, and Southern Utah University.

Early in his career, Murphy worked as an operations manager, account manager and part-time radio personality for radio stations in North Carolina and Tennessee.
