Shapiro Fellows

The Shapiro Fellows Program, supported by an endowment from the J.B. and Maurice C. Shapiro Charitable Trust, recruits distinguished professionals to complement our undergraduate programs in Journalism and Political Communication. Located in the heart of the nation's capital, the School of Media and Public Affairs makes extensive use of resources available in Washington, D.C., in implementing its unique undergraduate programs. Our philosophy is that theory and practice cannot be separated. Ideas and experience must be interwoven if students and scholars are to achieve a full understanding of communication. The Shapiro Fellows Program is an integral component in linking theory with practice.
