Inquiries
Successful Shapiro Fellowship applicants are currently active in a field related to media and public affairs and have achieved substantial professional stature. Shapiro Fellows undertake their activities at GW's School of Media and Public Affairs in conjunction with their ongoing professions.
The responsibilities of each Shapiro Fellow are defined by the University at the time of appointment. Activities may include teaching formal classes, conducting seminars, presenting university-wide lectures, advising students on career planning, supervising students in internships or other practical educational experiences, and assisting GW faculty in the development of courses, programs and research.
Fellows are typically appointed for one semester.
