Alumni
School of Media and Public Affairs alumni represent some of most prominent, successful minds working in media and politics today. Upon graduation, our students join a tight-knit group of professionals throughout the world and right here in Washington. Our Alumni Give Back: Michael Akin (BA '03 Political Communication, MBA '07) is shown
providing career guidance to a current student at SMPA's annual Communications Career Expo. Akin is
a Vice President at Reingold, a D.C.-based strategic communications firm that "crafts campaigns for
causes that matter." He directs the firm's Community Relations and Stakeholder Engagement practice.
