Background

Chuck Dolan is the Managing Director of The Sage Agency where he provides strategic communications advice, organizes media events and creates education programs. He coordinates these efforts with government relations and communications executives and develops and manages grassroots coalitions on international, federal, state and local issues. He recently served as a senior communications consultant to the Kerry-Edwards campaign. He was a member of the Clinton for President Exploratory Committee and served as the state chairman of the Virginia Clinton-Gore campaign in 1992 and 1996. He is the former executive director of the Democratic Governors' Association, where for seven years he participated in the election and re-election of Democratic governors in all fifty states. He has been a guest political analyst for the BBC, C-Span, PBS, MSNBC, Fox News, and CNN.

Mr. Dolan was a founder of the Democratic Leadership Council and continues to serve as a member of the Board of Advisors. He also serves on the Executive advisory Committee for the Pamela Harriman Foreign Service Fellowships at the College of William and Mary. Mr. Dolan served as the Vice-Chairman of the Presidentially appointed United States Advisory Commission on Public Diplomacy. The seven-member commission is a bipartisan panel of established by the Congress to advise the President, the Secretary of State, and the Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs on press and information activities of U.S. missions abroad, and the government's international radio and television operations. He is currently a member of the Public Diplomacy Council and has been a guest speaker on the topic of Public Diplomacy at the Salzburg Seminar. Prior to his work with the Democratic Governors' Association, Mr. Dolan served as a special assistant to the American Ambassador at the U.S. Embassy in Ireland. He also worked for three years as a Legislative Assistant in the U.S. Congress with responsibility for Appropriations Subcommittees on Justice, Commerce and Foreign Operations.
