Join us Thursday, September 17th at 6pm for a discussion focused on the lessons learned from news coverage of the science of the coronavirus pandemic, how it has been reported, how medical sciences have communicated, and updates on transmissions, vaccine development and other topics.

Speakers: 

Laura Helmuth is an American science journalist and the Editor-in-Chief of Scientific American. She was formerly the Health and Science editor at The Washington Post. From 2016 to 2018, she served as the President of the National Association of Science Writers.

Mark Johnson is a health and science reporter at the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. He was part of a team that won the 2011 Pulitzer Prize in Explanatory Reporting for a series of reports on the use of genetic technology to save a 4-year-old boy imperiled by a mysterious disease.

Nancy Lapid has been Editor in Charge of the Reuters Health medical news team since 2013. She came to Thomson Reuters after decades spent helping leading medical researchers write and publish manuscripts in peer-reviewed journals and present data at international congresses.
