Young Bobby Schieffer became interested in journalism in the
eighth grade. From the very day he first
saw his byline on top of the stories he composed that year, Schieffer became
hooked on journalism. From his
intermediate school first sports story to his first professional car wreck
story he wrote in college, to his first story for CBS when he covered a party
held by President Nixon’s daughter, Schieffer was there ready to report!

While in college, the young reporter from Texas
got a kick out of working on the police beat.

be most valuable throughout the duration of Schieffer’s career. |
