Helen Thomas has worked in the Washington press for over 60 years. She has covered nine presidents through scandal, impeachment and resignation. Thomas has become a staple of White House journalism, infamous for asking the tough questions. In her years working for United Press International, she was legendary for closing presidential news conferences with the words, “Thank you, Mr. President.” No matter the topic of discussion, Thomas was always respected for holding her own in Washington, ready to search out the truth wherever it might be found.

In her years as a journalist, Helen Thomas has received more than 30 honorary college degrees, and has won awards including the National Press Club’s 4th Estate, the Columbia University Journalism Award, the Peter Zenger Award and the Society for Professional Journalists life-time achievement award. Thomas has written two memoirs, and been a contributor in multiple books. Her latest writing is entitled, Thanks for the Memories, Mr. President, a look back at the forty years of experience she has had at the White House.
