Advice for Young Journalists

Young Reporter

For undergraduate journalism students around the country, Thomas said the most important experience for them to get was in the field. While graduate school was not something she brushed aside, it was something she called a luxury, a way to pass the time. Thomas went on to say that being informed about the happenings of the world was key to journalism. She stressed the importance of reading as many newspapers as possible, of keeping an eye on CNN and always being ready to cover something you knew little or even nothing about.
