Thomas on Controversy and the Future

Young Reporter

With the knowledge Helen Thomas holds, she has her own views on historical American events. Thomas said she had no idea who Bob Woodward’s secret Watergate source “Deep Throat” is, but if she ever did find out, it would be published within twenty-four hours. The John F. Kennedy assassination is something Thomas said was still unclear. She doesn’t doubt Lee Harvey Oswald was the culprit, but still questioned the existence of co-conspirators Oswald might have had

Thomas said the future of American journalism can shine only if journalists can realize the power that they hold, and the duty they have to the American people to ask the tough questions. The power of journalism, according to Thomas, is always changing.
