The ART of Capturing Light: The Foundation of Photography

Tuesday: January 28, 2020, from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm in SMPA 5th-floor STUDIO

Learn how to professionally capture photos with a DSLR photography camera. Shortly after, learn to apply the foundational techniques learned through still photography to video production. An overview of the elements of exposure to take full control of any camera you touch! Techniques that you will learn include: how to capture an image; Nikon D3300 basic operation; and Panasonic CX350 basic operation. Bring your own SD cards.  

DAM (Digital Asset Management)

Tuesday: February 4, 2020, from 4:30 – 6:30 pm in SMPA #510

This workshop will save you and your project! Learn how to use basic file management practices to protect your project. These practices include proper file structures, naming, and organization. We will touch on picking the right hard drive; formatting the project; storing and saving the media (Cloud vs Local); importing media to a project, and editing for final output. DAM (Digital Asset Management) is critical in the early stages of a project to ensure the safety of your work! Video and Audio will be provided in the workshop.   

Tips & Tricks of ADOBE Premiere Pro

Overview: Master the essential tips & tricks of Adobe Premiere Pro.  Come learn key techniques to get started editing your video and audio project. Your video/audio skills will be enhanced with useful tips, tricks, terms, and shortcut tools to assemble a sequence in Adobe Premiere Pro timeline. Video and Audio will be provided in the workshop.  

The ART Lighting

Light is Emotion. The feel of your photography will create an emotion depending upon the lighting set-up and conditions. Learn three lighting techniques and why it’s such an important tool for your projects.  The three types of lighting covered and practiced in the workshop will include: Split, Rembrandt, and Short and Board lighting. 

5 Secrets to an EXCELLENT Video Shot

5 ways to video record your iPhone. Yes, it is possible. Come learn the 5 secrets to how to think-out-of-box creatively when framing and recording your interviews and b-roll. Heighten your video shooting with sequential, authentic, and emotional creative shots that underlies your storytelling. This collaborative time will occur outdoors if weather permits.
