SMPA's Faculty
The University faculty includes scholars with international reputations who have published extensively and are frequently quoted in major news media commenting on current issues affecting the world today. Media and Public Affairs faculty bring extensive scholarship and professional experience to the classroom, and they lead the way on contemporary issues through research, publishing, and professional work.
The faculty also are shaping the future of communication and technology. They advise foreign countries on modernizing communication regulations and counsel
American policymakers about communication issues. They consult with international news syndicates and train officials in private industry and government for media appearances. Faculty also analyze news content and write scripts for drama, comedy, and documentaries.
The School also recruits eminent Washington professionals to serve as adjunct faculty. Distinguished professionals, activists, correspondents, producers, and political advisors from the Washington area frequently teach courses and meet with students as a regular part of the School of Media and Public Affairs programs.
