Ashley Lê
Ashley Lê loves finding good stories as much as figuring out new ways to tell them. Recently, she has been telling stories of women candidates for public office. She joined Democratic Leader Stacey Abrams’ second gubernatorial campaign in 2022 as her Social Media Manager, traveling to every corner in the state of Georgia to amplify voices of Georgian voters. During the 2024 election cycle, she is serving as the Deputy Digital Director for Maryland’s U.S. Senate candidate Angela Alsobrooks, documenting every step of Ms. Alsobrooks' history-making run to become the first Black woman senator from Maryland through photography and videography.
Outside of campaigning, Professor Lê also cares deeply about advocacy storytelling, having worked as a content producer for UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, and as senior social media manager for The Trevor Project, the leading suicide prevention organization for LGBTQ+ young people. Her work focuses on creating authentic content that celebrates and empowers the lived experiences of the people we serve, and building digital strategies that center around its audiences’ voices.
Ashley is a 2019 graduate of The George Washington University’s School of Media and Public Affairs, where she also currently works as an Adjunct Professor. Her students teach her a lot about TikTok trends, and that’s the best part of the job. Her two dogs, Swoosh and Frankie, enjoy their side hustle as “assistant pawfessors”.
