Join the GW Film Studies Program and award-winning producer, writer, attorney, actor, former studio executive and professor Sig Libowitz for a FREE day-long and highly interactive workshop that explores all the inner workings of filmmaking, financing, budgeting, distribution, copyright infringement and more!

This is the perfect event for aspiring filmmakers, visual storytellers, lawyers, musicians and everyone in-between hoping to gain insights into the fascinating minutia in the entertainment industry. 

This event is proudly hosted by the GW Film Studies Program with support from GW’s student-run filmmaking organization, Rough Cut Productions, and with a special thanks to the School of Media and Public Affairs.

Who

Sig Libowitz is an award-winning producer, writer, attorney, actor, professor and former studio executive. Sig was shortlisted for an academy award as the Writer/Producer of “The Response” (Best Short Film, Live Action) starring Aasif Mandvi (“The Daily Show”), Kate Mulgrew (“Orange is the New Black”) and Peter Riegert (“The Sopranos” and “Animal House”). Sig also produced the feature film “At Middleton,” starring Academy Award nominees Andy Garcia and Vera Farmiga. 

Previously, he served as a studio and production executive at Film4, Paramount Classics and Good Machine (now Focus Features) where he worked on numerous films and was the executive in charge of production on Todd Fields’ “In the Bedroom,” nominated for five Academy Awards including Best Picture and Best Screenplay.
