The Office of Rep. Jeff Denham (CA-10, R) is looking for a Communications Intern (unpaid) for Summer 2018. The intern should be able to come in a minimum of three (maximum of five) days per week from 8:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. on session days and 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. on non-session days (hours may be negotiable).
The Communications Intern will be responsible for assisting the Communications Assistant and Communications Director in developing videos, writing letter and postcard mailers, creating graphics and posts for social media and other tasks around the office. The intern will also be expected to answer office phones, give tours of the Capitol and perform other traditional intern tasks.
An interest in communications or public relations is a must. The ideal candidate will have experience with filming and editing video, taking photos and creating graphics. Familiarity with Adobe Premiere and Photoshop is a plus. Additionally, the candidate should be a strong writer and be familiar with AP style.
