Journalism & Mass Communication Honors
To apply for Journalism and Mass Communication Honors, graduating seniors must have a minimum 3.7 GPA and a portfolio of published work. A short letter to faculty members on the SMPA Awards Committee should outline applicable achievements and career goals.
Special Honors in Political Communication
Students with a 3.7 GPA in all courses completed may declare for Special Honors in political communication at the beginning of senior year. Students take SMPA 4199 Senior Seminar in the first semester of the senior year and SMPA 4198 Special Honors Research Seminar in the second semester.
