The Brem Foundation to Defeat Breast Cancer maximizes every woman’s chances of finding an early, curable breast cancer. The Brem Foundation has a variety of programs dedicated to early detection of breast cancer, including educating women about screening options and risk factors, providing access to diagnostic testing for underserved women, and funding the only breast-imaging physician training program that requires community service.

Position Description

The Brem Foundation is seeking a motivated and responsible Development Intern for the Spring 2018 semester to contribute to fundraising initiatives and growth. The intern will work closely with the CEO to identify key sources of revenue including
grants, private donors, corporate partnerships, and cause marketing. The intern will be substantially involved in creating and executing a fundraising strategy. The CEO is committed to mentoring and including the intern in high-level meetings and opportunities including interfacing with corporate partners, reaching out to individual donors, and discussing strategy with key stakeholders, where appropriate.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Draft and assist in implementing comprehensive fundraising strategy
  • Track fundraising goals and progress
  • Identify and pursue new development opportunities, such as grants or corporate
  • sponsorships
  • Attend meetings with stakeholders
  • Manage and maintain donor database
  • Communicate regularly with current and potential donors and partners
  • Assist in the execution of fundraising and educational events
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Self-starter- must be willing to take initiative independently with little direction or
  • supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Experience working with fundraising, nonprofits, or databases a plus
  • Passion for Brem’s mission
Hours are flexible, but the intern is expected to work 10-20 hours/wk. The internship can be done for academic credit.
