Digital Internship @ Born This Way Foundation

Born This Way Foundation is looking for an intern with strong knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media sites. In addition to the requirements below, the intern should be comfortable with working remotely as most duties will be carried out virtually.

This role incorporates ​multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced environment to develop creative, forward-thinking content and strategies that engages audiences and further enhances BTWF’s mission, reputation and brand position. This position reports to the Digital Manager and will work closely with the BTWF communications and programming staff to plan and schedule content.

While this position is remote, but based in Washington, D.C. The intern would be ​expected to periodically meet with the Digital Manager in person. This internship requires 15 - 20 hours per week for 3 - 4 months. This is an unpaid position.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in drafting/reviewing copy for social media campaigns, website, emails, and other materials
  • Monitor blogs, forums, and social networks to highlight areas for overall improvement and inform on emerging social media strategy
  • Scan industry media for news items; provide regularly scheduled updates on the latest news
  • Additional assigned projects to help further the mission + vision of Born This Way Foundation and it’s programming

Qualifications

Required

  • Ability to strategically create and distribute content across a variety of social media networks
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Self-starter with a great work ethic, ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and has the ability to clearly communicate solutions

Preferred

  • 1+ years of social media or related experience for an organization
  • Experience in graphic design
