Active Minds is the nation’s premier nonprofit organization supporting mental health awareness and education for students. Through award-winning programs and services, Active Minds is empowering a new generation to speak openly, act courageously, and change the conversation about mental health for everyone.

Based in Washington, DC, Active Minds is a small nonprofit in Dupont Circle with nationwide impact. Their mission is to empower high school and college students to speak up about mental health issues.

The point-of-view, creative ideas, and skills of the graphic design intern are highly valued!

Your assignment will be in the Marketing and Communications Department. They will work with you to create a semester where you’ll gain experience and accomplish your goals while helping the organization tackle all kinds of needs both big and small in the areas of social media, print production email marketing, graphics, video and more.

You’ll have fun, be supported, and have a big impact.

Familiarity and experience with Photoshop, InDesign and Illustrator are expected. You must be able to work on-site for at least three days a week.

Internship applications are reviewed on a rolling basis:

  • Fall application review begins in May and ends August 15
  • Spring application review begins in mid-September and ends December 15
  • Summer application review begins in February and ends May 1
