Internship @ Assistant Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Ben Ray Luján's Office

The Assistant Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Congressman Ben Ray Luján (NM-03), is hiring paid full-time interns for his Washington, D.C. office to work on the communications team. Candidates should be motivated, flexible, and detail-oriented individuals with availability starting in January/February and can stay a minimum of 10 weeks. New Mexico ties are a plus but are not required.

Intern responsibilities include assisting communications staff with writing memos, briefing the Assistant Speaker, working on press releases and statements from the congressman, social media, and digital content creation. Interns will have the opportunity to work in a Democratic Leadership office and will have a large range of projects and duties to work on. Candidates should be outgoing and possess strong oral and written communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a good sense of humor. Candidates with New Mexico ties are strongly encouraged to apply. Individuals from a range of identities and backgrounds, including those from historically disenfranchised communities are also strongly encouraged to apply.
