Internships @ The Deep State Blog

May 20, 2018

The Deep State Blog seeks two interns to work for part-time work this summer and into the early fall. The internships are each for 20 hours a week and pay $15 per hour. The office will be located in Georgetown.

The Deep State is a global news blog that covers the world’s largest intelligence agencies with journalistic flair and critical edge. The site, hosted by veteran investigative reporter Jefferson Morley, captures the journalist high ground between the populist conspiracy theories of Alex Jones and the state-sponsored propaganda of governments the world over.

Morley reports on the realities of surveillance, psychological warfare, cyberwar, covert operations and assassination and rigorously fact checks the conspiracy theories that shroud such activities. The video-rich news page empowers readers, patrons, and students with original reporting, wide-ranging debate and online education. It illuminates the world of secret intelligence agencies by reliably separating fake news from real in a realm rife with deception and misinformation.

Morley, investigative reporter and author of three books on the CIA, will recruit other informed experts from among his wide range of Washington contacts. to write for the Deep State blog. Its impact will be measured in numbers of people reached and number of stories picked up by other media, but most of all by number of students educated about the history of the CIA and other intelligence agencies through online courses taught by Morley and guest experts.
