Internships @ Double Exposure Investigative Film Festival

July 18, 2018

Double Exposure Investigative Film Festival and Symposium , a project of 100Reporters news organization, is accepting applications for two DX Festival Interns that will begin on August 1 and conclude three months (12 weeks) later at the end of October 2018. Double Exposure is the nation’s first and only festival dedicated to investigative storytelling on film. It combines five days of film screenings showcasing the best in new investigative cinema with a three-day professional symposium for journalists and filmmakers. The fourth edition will take place October 10-14, 2018.

Interns participate in multiple aspects of planning and supporting Double Exposure, and have the opportunity to learn first-hand the organization and logistics involved in mounting a multi-faceted event, tailored to general audiences for the film program, and to professional journalists and filmmakers for the symposium. The symposium includes workshops, master classes, panel sessions, networking events, and a legal clinic.

The internship is open to college or graduate students or recent graduates who are highly organized, creative, self-starting, tech-savvy, and demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. A commitment to excellent communication, dependability, strong work ethic, ambassadorship, and confidentiality are essential. Ideally, candidates will have a background in: communication, documentary, journalism, film, event planning, and arts management. More importantly, candidates will be enthusiastic and compelled by the mission of the festival and symposium.

The internship is part-time and requires a commitment of 20 hours per week over 12 weeks. Some weekend work is required, and hours may increase in the lead-up to the festival. The interns must also be available to work the entire week of the festival, Monday, October 8, through Sunday, October 14. The interns will work under the guidance of the Outreach and Engagement Director and the Festival Manager.
