Internships @ Senate Republican Conference

July 24, 2019

Senator John Barrasso seeks interns for the Senate Republican Conference for the fall 2019 and spring 2020 sessions. Senator Barrasso serves as the Chair of SRC.

The Conference helps senators communicate their priorities directly to the American people through a wide variety of communications resources, including television, radio, web technology, social media and graphic design among others resources. Through these tools, the Republican Conference is able to aggressively communicate a positive vision for putting Americans back to work, growing our economy and making America stronger.

Senate Conference interns assist with a variety of tasks. They help manage the front office, which includes answering phone calls, sorting mail and performing administrative duties. This also involves greeting Senators as they arrive at the studio. They research trending topics, by following blogs, major news sources and social media accounts. They analyze how recent news stories affect the ratings of the Party. Interns also pull relevant political stories from pop culture media, including the late night shows and TV shows.

Interns also help with technical projects, such as operating a video camera, using Adobe Premiere and moving and working with video/radio equipment. Interns are expected to be professional and exhibit a willingness to learn.
