The School of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University seeks a data journalist to advance the school’s commitment to rigorous education and preparing students for the profession. This is a full-time, non-tenure – accruing, renewable faculty position offered at the rank of Assistant Professor. Appointment begins as early as Fall, 2023.
Responsibilities Include:
- Teaching data reporting, data visualization, and other advanced data journalism courses at the undergraduate level
- Continuing creative activity, reporting, and/or research
- Advising students
- Performing department and university service.
Qualifications:
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree by date of appointment; must have at least five years of experience as a working professional journalist, a minimum of three years working in data journalism, must have a potential for teaching excellence, and must have the ability to collaborate and work in teams.
