Katie Brown

Katie Brown is a filmmaker, writer, and researcher. Notable films include the animation-live action My Holographic Heart, which premiered at the Festival of Cinema NYC in 2023 where it received a nomination for Best Experimental or Animation Film, and the feminist thriller True Crime, which premiered at the DC Independent Film Festival in 2022 and won best female director, best actress, and runner-up for best thriller awards at the Independent Shorts Awards International Film Festival. In 2024, she will direct her first feature-length film, the paranormal thriller Indigo Hour (produced by Eternal Film Productions). Some of her other comics work will be released through Apollo City Comics in 2024. Katie has a PhD in media and prejudice from the University of Michigan, continues to lead quantitative research in the private sector, and teaches at the George Washington University’s School of Media & Public Affairs. Her best day would include playing with a camera, getting lost in nature, and hanging with her dog.
