The Office of Legislative Affairs has internships available for currently enrolled undergraduate and law students. A position as a legislative intern provides an excellent opportunity for learning about the interplay between the U.S. Department of Justice and Congress. OLA interns participate in a variety of legislative and administrative tasks, including attending congressional hearings and briefings, preparing written and oral summaries of congressional hearings, reviewing congressional correspondence and hearing transcripts, working with OLA staff to prepare and organize materials for Department witnesses testifying before Congress, and reviewing and tracking legislation introduced in Congress.
How to Apply
Positions are available for fall, spring, and summer semesters. Preference will be given to full-time applicants, but all applications will be given full consideration.
Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis, so we encourage you to apply early. Please apply by forwarding a cover letter, resume, and a writing sample of approximately 10 pages or less to: [email protected].
