Michele Kimball’s body of legal research focuses on government transparency and access to government information. She uses mixed research methods to evaluate the real-life applications of media law statutes and policies. Her research has appeared in Communication Law and Policy, Government Information Quarterly, the Journal of Media Law and Ethics, and the Newspaper Research Journal.
Dr. Kimball is also the research director for the Military Family Advisory Network, where she oversees large-scale qualitative studies. She has been invited to present her findings at the White House, the Pentagon and the Capitol. She works directly with policymakers to determine how her research results can become solutions for gaps in support for military families.
