Voice of America's English to Asia unit is looking to fill a few non-paid internship positions for the spring 2019 semester.
Voice of America is the multimedia international broadcaster in the U.S., funded by the federal government. We broadcast every day in more than 40 languages to millions of audience worldwide on radio, television, Internet and social media. We produce three daily English language programs on VOA that are targeted to Asia on all these media platforms.
Responsibilities
- Assisting in the production of video programs
- Assisting in the production of radio programs
- Tracking and posting on social media
- Updating web pages and uploading web stories
- Researching and generating coverage ideas
- Reporting on Asia and international news for radio and web
Qualifications/Requirements
- Chinese speaking and writing
- Video editing
- News writing
- Social media knowledge and experience
- Research and communication
- Strong interest in Asia or background in Asian cultures
