The New Republic is seeking a part-time editorial intern for our office in downtown Washington, D.C. The position is paid, and the intern will work 20 hours a week; the schedule is negotiable. Candidates should display close attention to detail, have strong writing skills, and show initiative. Journalism experience is preferred, but not imperative; some familiarity with content management systems is helpful. Interns are asked to contribute to The New Republic by:
- Copy-editing web stories
- Assisting in web production
- Filing and tracking staff writers' FOIA requests
- Conducting research for editors
- Managing the office
