Internship @ Senate Republican Conference

Senator Barrasso will assume the Chairmanship of the Committee in January of 2019. The Conference helps senators communicate their priorities directly to the American people through a wide variety of communications resources, including television, radio, web technology, social media, graphic design, and Spanish language services, among others resources. Through these tools, the Republican Conference is able to aggressively communicate a positive vision for putting Americans back to work, growing our economy, and making America stronger.

This is a full-time paid internship, located in Washington, DC.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the front office by answering phone calls, sorting mail, greeting Senators that arrive in the studio, and performing other administrative duties
  • Researching trending topics by following blogs, major news outlets, and social media accounts
  • Analyzing the effects of recent news stories on the ratings of the Party
  • Pulling relevant political stories from pop culture media, including late night shows and other TV shows
  • Aiding with technical projects such as operating a video camera, using Adobe Premiere, and moving and working with video/audio equipment

Qualifications

Interns are expected to be professional and exhibit a willingness to learn.
