Summer 2019 Internship @ Global Water 2020

Global Water 2020 is seeking a full-time intern (preferably seniors, graduate students, or recent graduates) to assist with a wide range of projects that support our advocacy, communications, facilitation and research efforts, including those related to the UN Secretary-General’s Call to Action for WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) in healthcare facilities, cholera, neglected tropical diseases, and hydro-diplomacy. Global Water 2020 interns will support the Principals and report to the Research Assistant.

The successful candidate will be a student (undergraduate senior or graduate student) or recent graduate in public health, environmental health, environmental studies, finance, business, political science, public policy, international relations, international development, anthropology, sociology or related field. 

Internships run during the summer or school semester. During the summer, they expect forty hours per week. This internship will be compensated at $15.00 per hour. You must be eligible to work or intern in the U.S. The Global Water 2020 office is located in the DuPont Circle area of Washington DC.

Responsibilities

  • Research U.S.-based and international non-profit, private sector and educational institutions
  • working on global WASH and health efforts
  • Develop inventory of global WASH and health funders
  • Brainstorm and help identify domestic, regional and global collaboration opportunities
  • Help write, edit, and format materials for meetings with Members of Congress
  • Track global and regional convenings and assist in prioritizing which events Global Water 2020
  • should influence
  • Maintain Global Water 2020’s social media presence
  • Support social media campaigns for global awareness days
  • Assist Global Water 2020 team in all other duties as assigned
