Government Affairs Division Summer Internship @ Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association

The Government Affairs Division Summer Intern position is designed to expose an undergraduate college student who is interested in the federal legislative and regulatory process and the various aspects of the General Aviation industry and AOPA’s operations. The intern will assist Government Affairs subject matter experts with various research, writing, and activities as assigned. The intern will also accompany staff to meetings on Capitol Hill and federal regulatory agencies.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or a graduate of an accredited bachelor’s degree programEffective oral and written communication skills, including the ability to interact successfully with coworkers
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team as well as independently
  • Strong desire to learn
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good decision making and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Excellent organizational skills
