Summer Internship @ The Center for Cyber and Homeland Security at Auburn University

The Center is looking for Summer Interns to join their fast-paced organization. This is a great opportunity for a student seeking a career in cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, counterterrorism, or homeland security. Interns will help maintain and enhance the Center’s multimedia platforms; support planning and execution of events; and complete other tasks to support the Center’s operational priorities.

Past events interns have worked on include the Secretary of Homeland Security’s State of Homeland Security Address; off the record meetings with various government and private security organizations; and international security initiatives in partnership with entities such as Europol.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the planning and execution of public and private events
  • Assist in managing the Center's multimedia platforms including social media accounts, website, email listserv, podcast, blog, etc.
  • Liaise with various University departments to keep the Center in compliance with
  • State laws and University policies
  • Preparing senior leadership to respond to media queries and conduct other outreach or meetings with stakeholders
  • Research and write the first draft of policy backgrounders/reports, event summaries, opinion pieces, book chapters, grant applications/reporting, etc.
  • Providing other administrative, logistical, or substantive support
