Join us on Tuesday, February 15 at 6 PM via Zoom for a conversation with SMPA National Council Member and CNN's DC Bureau Chief & Sr. Vice President Sam Feist and SMPA National Council Member and Managing Producer of POLITICO Live Claritza Jiménez as they talk about trends in journalism and media and any recommendations they have for graduates.

Sam Feist is CNN's Washington bureau chief and senior vice president. Named to this role in May 2011, he oversees operations of the DC bureau which includes CNN's largest news gathering operation, the production of CNN's Washington-based programming, and major political events including election nights, conventions, inaugurations, town halls, and debates. Feist also oversees CNN's internal fact-checking team and CNN's Special Events unit and is the recipient of three Emmy Awards. Feist began his CNN career in 1990 as a freelance producer in CNN's London Bureau. He then joined CNN's Atlanta headquarters and moved to the Washington Bureau during the 1992 presidential campaign.

Claritza Jiménez is a journalist and producer experienced in television news, digital video and live journalism events. At present, she is the managing producer at POLITICO Live where she conceives and produces on-stage news conversations for Live events ranging from daylong summits to panels with Washington newsmakers. In this role, she has produced interviews with White House officials, members of Congress and governors on topics such as the opioid abuse crisis, artificial intelligence and climate change.  A typical day involves collaborating with reporters and editors across the newsroom in addition to working with the revenue team, which oversees sponsorship for Live events. Ms. Jiménez graduated cum laude from the George Washington University with a B.A. in political communication.
