Walter A. Roberts III "Mingo" is an inspiring educator and skilled facilitator known for turning complex concepts into engaging and accessible learning experiences. As a Knowledge and Insights Specialist - Digital for USAID’s Office of Digital Technology, he leads the Digital Workforce Development, excelling in instructional design and facilitation. He’s the creative energy behind the innovative Digital Development Training (DDT) and delivers impactful DDTs at Missions globally.
 
A strong advocate for professional development, Mingo served on the USAID Professional Development Committee from 2020 to 2022 and holds certifications in Digital Project Management and Training Facilitation. With over 19 years of digital enablement experience, he stays attuned to the fast-evolving digital marketing landscape as an adjunct professor at George Washington University’s School of Media and Public Affairs. There, he brings humor and real-world insights into his course on integrated marketing and social media strategies. Beyond his professional commitments, Mingo supports his community as a board member of DC SCORES, a youth development organization providing after-school programs for 3000+ poet-athletes in D.C. public elementary schools.
 
Mingo’s academic achievements include a B.A. in Political Science from Morehouse College and an M.A. with honors in Communications, Culture, and Technology from Georgetown University. Outside his professional roles, he brings his creativity to life by restoring vintage Schwinn bicycles and backyard landscapes, and stays active by playing soccer in a lively “dads only” pick-up league. Residing in Washington, D.C., Mingo enjoys adventures with his wife, Michelle, and their two energetic children, Mateo and Zadie. Whether hiking local trails or sharing a laugh, Mingo embraces life with curiosity, community spirit, and an undeniable zest for fun.
