Dorothy Gilliam Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

The Washington Press Club Foundation (WPCF) will present the Lifetime Achievement Award to Ms. Dorothy Gilliam for her achievements in making a significant impact on women in journalism.

"This award is given annually to a person who embodies the spirit and focus of the Foundation," said the president of the WPCF, Jim Kuhnhenn.

Ms. Gilliam founded and continues to head the Prime Movers Media program housed at SMPA. She is the former president of the National Association of Black Journalists and was the first African-American female reporter at "The Washington Post."

Ms. Gilliam will be honored at the WPCF?s 66th Congressional Dinner that was to be held on February 10th but will be rescheduled.
