Press Interns @ Office of Rep. Ben Ray Luján (D-NM)

The Assistant Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Congressman Ben Ray Luján (NM-03), is seeking two paid full-time interns for his Washington, D.C. office. Candidates should be motivated, flexible, and detail-oriented individuals with availability starting in September/October and can stay a minimum of 10 weeks. New Mexico ties are a plus but are not required.

Intern responsibilities include answering assisting with communications projects, drafting creative and engaging social media content, working on speeches and press statements, leading tours of the Capitol and assisting experienced staff with projects in diverse issue areas. Interns will have the opportunity to work in a Democratic Leadership office and will have a large range of legislative projects and duties to work on.

Candidates should be outgoing and possess strong oral and written communication skills, an ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a good sense of humor. Candidates with New Mexico ties are strongly encouraged to apply. Individuals from a range of identities and backgrounds, including those from historically disenfranchised communities are also strongly encouraged to apply.
