Research Assistant (FWS) @ GW Department of Anthropology

The GW Department of Anthropology seeks a Federal Work-Study research assistant for $15 hr/10 hrs/week. The student will assist with an NSF-funded ethnography project on cellular phone use in area high schools working approximately 20 hours per week.

Experience and Duties

  • Spanish or other language abilities a plus.
  • Coordinate project logistics, including data coding, IRB permissions, and data migration. 
  • Meet with parents, students, teachers, and administrators to collect ethnographic data. 
  • Write-up observations in concise yet complex ways. 
  • We need self-motivated individuals with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. 
  • Background in anthropology and media helpful.

There is the potential for multiple years of participation in this exciting project and opportunities for publication.
