Moderated by SMPA professor and award-winning investigative journalist Cheryl W. Thompson, this discussion will explore the new book written by SMPA lecturer Keith Harriston and four other journalists Nick Charles, Patrice Gaines, Michael Cottman and Curtis Bunn titled Say Their Names: How Black Lives Came to Matter in America. 

Professor Harriston and co-authors dive into how racism and the fight for racial justice have shaped America’s past and present. In this new book, they explore how the Black Lives Movement emerged and traces the roots of policing in America.
