I loved watching the campus come back to life over the past week. I picked up a paper copy of the Hatchet (in addition to the stories, I appreciated the pun in the Sign of the Whale headline), saw parents and students unloading cars and rolling carts, and heard noise in the halls. I spent time with SMPA’s ambassadors, met our new students, and caught up with faculty. I refilled my snack drawer.
As we start this week, many of you have come by my office to say ‘hi’. I will see some of you in class this week, and hopefully will see just about everyone at Kick Off next Wednesday.
The relative lull of the summer was nice - I wore sneakers rather than loafers most days and I had to attend fewer meetings - but students are what makes SMPA a special place.
