It’s great to be back. The hallways are crowded and noisy, students are dropping by to say ‘hi’, and the spring schedule is filling with events.
A few reminders as we head into spring:
SMPA has a lot of prizes and scholarships. Check them out and apply.
The Cokie and Steve Roberts Student Support Fund is here for financial emergencies.
GW has a lot of resources for physical and mental health. Reach out if you need help.
Talk to your professors early and often. Ask questions, go to office hours, get to know them before you’re in a jam.
Read your email. SMPA sends weekly updates with events, jobs, internships, deadlines, and other logistics. We try to spread the word on social media and through posters, but email is the most reliable way to keep up with what’s going on.
This semester is going to get stressful. Some of you are graduating and are unsure about what comes next. Politics and world events can seem overwhelming. Classes and finances are ever present sources of stress. But in the middle of it all, you have friends, classmates, and SMPA faculty and staff who care about you. We are here for each other. Sometimes that means laughing about something ridiculous, venting, going for a walk, or spending a couple minutes with the puzzle in SMPA. Whatever comes next, we’re in it together.
See you around the halls.
